Karuna Integrative Journeys (KIJ) was founded by Corinne Collins in 2014 as a way to combine her love of travel, teaching mindfulness and compassion meditation, and teaching MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction).
Corinne is committed to bringing the powerful stress-management and healing tools of mindfulness meditation and MBSR to a wider audience. Corinne teaches locally in the San Francisco peninsula area, in Monterey, and in Santa Cruz. She will soon be leading study tours to Thailand, Nepal, Vietnam, and other Asian countries.

In 1979, Jon Kabat-Zinn recruited chronically ill patients not responding well to traditional treatments to participate in his newly formed eight-week stress-reduction program, which we now call Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Since then, substantial research has mounted demonstrating how mindfulness-based interventions improve mental and physical health—comparably so to other psychological interventions.
